Senior Project Information

This folder contains all of the information that has been shared in class. As descriptions, rubrics, tips and tricks, and other project-related information becomes available, they will be added to this folder.

This folder has also been shared with you in your Google Drive. If you cannot access it in your drive, please contact me.

Reminder #1: If you plan on using either of the templates as a basis for your work, you will need to make a copy before you can make any edits.

Reminder #2: Once you create your Annotated Bibliography and your Research Essay, you need to share them with me in your Google Drive. You will also do this for your presentation once you start working on it.

Reminder #3: You also need to change the title of your document to the following format: Last name First Name Item. So, my annotated bibliography would be called "Shier Miss Annotated Bibliography." My essay would be "Shier Miss Research Essay." My presentation would be "Shier Miss Media Presentation."

Senior Project - Getting Started

We are jumping into working on the Senior Project soon. Before we do so, you should have at least an idea of what you want to research and write your action plan on. To help you with this, here is a list of topic suggestions and ideas. You will need to tell me your tentative topic choice by the end of class on Thursday, March 10.

Be aware that many of these are broad topics, and you will want to think about narrowing your focus before getting too deep into your research. For example, if you choose the topic "Hate Crimes," you may want to consider narrowing your topic to focus on hate crimes based on race or hate crimes based on gender (or any other sub-category of hate crimes). You want your topic to be broad enough that you are able to find information on it, but not so broad that you get overwhelmed by the information you find. If you would like help choosing a topic or narrowing down your topic once you've chosen a wide focus, just ask.

Gatsby Character Project

As you've been reading "The Great Gatsby," you've been collecting information about each of the main characters. Use that information as you complete this character project. Remember when you turn it in to attach the completed character description sheets about each of the people on this list. This project is due on or before February 22.

Gatsby Vocabulary

In "The Great Gatsby," F. Scott Fitzgerald uses a lot of "big" words, many of which may be unfamiliar. This list provides you with a list of words in the order they appear in the novel, complete with a definition.
